Fine Art Pencil Drawings
I enjoy creating black and white drawings on paper using Graphite Pencil, Ink, and White Chalk. With some subjects I also like to add a touch of colour to the eyes or a prominent feature.
If you would like a portrait created, please contact me to discuss details.

Self Portrait
Pencil and Ink Drawing.
I created this drawing of myself from a photo taken in the early 70's, in the yard of my first home in Melbourne. While playing with my brother's toy car, the wind had blown the sheets on the clothesline, and I think this caught my startled attention.

Old Wooden Doors of Hungary
Pencil and Ink Drawing.
Inspired by my Hungarian background. I love the architecture of old buildings. Interesting work on the doors.

Kevin
Kevin's portrait is created with pencil, white chalk and ink on paper. He was a rescued goat that lived the rest of his days at Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary.

Mum and babies
A proud mum with her babies at Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary. I created this portrait in pencil, ink, with a touch of colour to her nose.

Ellie and Meg
This special portrait of my niece and Meg was created in pencil, ink, and a touch of colour added to Ellie's cheek and lips.

Family Portrait
A commissioned portrait of mum with her two kids, created in pencil, ink and white chalk. With a touch of colour to their brown eyes.

The Sitting Room
This little portrait is about postcard size. Created in pencil and ink.

Portugal 1930
I love this Portugal image. So much going on. I created this piece from a photo from a magazine many years ago. Pencil and Ink. (Sold)

Turban Shell
Turbo Undulatus. This Sea Snail is Native to Australia. I found this shell on the beach when we stayed at Aireys Inlet last year. Such beautiful patters. Much like our garden snail, but with colour variations of greens. A vibrant metallic sheen in some parts.
I photographed this shell nestled in the sand. I did not remove it. I used to collect shells when I was young, but after learning more about habitats and different environments, I feel it's not right to remove something from its environment. It needs to become a part of its own journey on this part of earth. Maybe it will be reused by another little creature, maybe it may break down and become a part of the beach. This little shell is forever in my memory, and it was a pleasure to create a drawing of in pencil, ink, and chalk. The rough grain of the paper also brings an element of texture to the shell.

Lion
Small pencil, ink and chalk drawing on pastel paper.
I like using different coloured paper that suits the subject. In selecting the tan, ochre paper, I wanted this to be as close to the colour of the lion's skin as possible.

Olivia
Pencil sketch.
I'm a big fan of Olivia Newton-John. I was inspired to sketch this young portrait of her from a photo I found in a magazine many years ago.
I plan to create an oil painting portrait of her when I find the right picture that captured her unique soul.

Lighthouse
Pencil and Ink.
I'm unsure where this lighthouse is, but I was inspired to draw it many years ago from a photo. I wanted to recreate it mainly using ink pen and add high contrast to the look. I love adding a bit of colour to a black and white drawing. Here, I have added red to the door.

The Craigs Hotel
Pencil, Chalk and Ink.
One of the many beautiful buildings in Lydiard Street, Ballarat.

Lydiard Street
Pencil and Ink.
Lydiard Street, Ballarat. This is a small drawing I created from taking several photos of the buildings along the street, and joined them together so I could have a focus on the scale of each building. From there, I used a ruler to draw up all the straight lines, and the details were added afterwards.

Wedding Day
Pencil, Chalk and Ink.
I love to recreate portraits of people and animals in pencil. This portrait of my brother and his wife was drawn with graphite pencil, white chalk, and finished with a little ink. The white chalk of her beautiful dress and flowers, was the most prominent part to create, and I love how the contrast and detail has turned out. I really enjoyed creating this moment for them.

Commissioned Portrait
Pencil, Chalk and Ink.
A commissioned piece for friends. This cheeky moment was a pleasure to capture in pencil. I love using chalk to highlight areas and adding a touch of colour to their eyes.
